Amanda Bynes Biography
Amanda Bynes was born on April 3, 1986. At only 21 years old, she ranked fifth in Forbes list of highest celebrity stars under 21. She is said to be earning a total of $2.5 million a year. “The Amanda Show” in Nickelodeon channel was what made Amanda Bynes well loved by television audience of all ages. She then grabbed lead roles in Hollywood films including “What a Girl Wants” and “Big Fat Liar”.
Amanda grew up in Thousand Oaks in California. She actually belonged to a family of comedians. Her dad, Rick Bynes, is a practicing dentist who also hand his hand on stand up comedy. Her mother, Lynn, is an office manager and a dental assistant. Amanda is the youngest in her family and had two other siblings, Tommy and Jillian. Amanda graduated from an independent study program under Filmore High School. She also has a lovable dog, Midge.
Amanda’s heart belongs to comedy. At a young age, she trained in a comedy camp with mentors Richard Pryor and Arsenio Hall. Because of her love for acting and theater, she often appeared in several stage shows like “Annie”, “The Music Man”, “The Secret Garden”, and the “The Sound of Music”. At seven years old, she began being seen on television commercials for “Buncha Crunch” candies.
Amanda wanted to go beyond stage acting and took up acting classes. She then auditioned and landed several roles in Nickelodeon TV shows including “Figure It Out” and “All That”. Not long after, she was given her own comedy show “The Amanda Show” which skyrocketed her popularity in huge proportions. She then ventured into film acting and debut in the comedy movie with Frankie Muniz in “Big Fat Liar”. Not long after, she was given a solo-starring role in “What a Girl Wants”. Amanda created more and more comedy films and worked with bigger stars like John Travolta in “Hairspray”. She also starred in “Lovewrecked”, “She’s the Man” and “Sydney White”. Amanda is also a favorite pick for animation voiceovers. Her voice is featured in “Charlotte's Web 2: Wilbur's Great Adventure” and “Robots”.
Several award-giving bodies acclaimed Amanda for her acting abilities. She was included in the Ensemble of the Year for Hairspray during the Hollywood Film Award. Blimp Award gave her the title Favorite Television Actress for “Amanda Show” for four consecutive years from 2000 to 2003. The same body also gave her the Favorite Movie Actress award for Big Fat Liar in 2002 and What a Girl Wants in 2003.
From acting, Amanda was also a hit in the fashion industry. Steve and Barry’s offered her a five-year contract for “Dear”, an apparel and accessories line exclusively designed by Amanda Bynes. She is also much into art and has once painted a portrait of David Letterman.
Unlike some Hollywood teen stars, Amanda love being with her family and friends on her free time and says no to clubs and alcohol drinking. When asked about her teen fans, she would reply that she is “more similar to them than some... socialite or whatever.” This humble and down to earth personality is what makes Amanda Bynes a favorite of all and a true model to her young audience.
